The three-day guarantee
From 5 January 2026, CCS-eligible families can receive at least 72 hours of subsidised childcare per fortnight, regardless of their recognised participation level.
At a glance
The baseline 72 subsidised hours is commonly described as three days per week. Some families may qualify for up to 100 subsidised hours per fortnight because of recognised participation, First Nations eligibility, an exemption or eligible Additional Child Care Subsidy.

- Relates to subsidised hours, not free childcare
- Does not guarantee a place or particular booked days
- Families remain responsible for applicable gap fees
